We can support local authorities deal with development viability when approached by developers. Normally this work is free to the local authority and is paid for by the developer.
We have recently provided site-specific development viability guidance and support for Tandridge Borough Council, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Arun District Council, North Hertfordshire District Council and Salisbury District Council and have in the past done the same for Horsham District Council and Elmbridge Borough Council where we contributed to the successful ‘defence’ of a planning appeal which included affordable housing and site viability issues. We provide assistance to Waverley Borough, Three Rivers, West Berkshire, North Dorset, North Somerset, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, East Hants and other Councils on planning-led affordable housing issues – making links from their enabling function, for example, currently giving assistance on the negotiation of commuted sums (payments in lieu of on-site affordable housing).
